Agnes Schubert Space, 96, Olathe, KS passed away March 19, 2005 at Olathe Good Samaritan Center. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Shawnee. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice of Olalthe Medical Center.
Agnes was a lifelong resident of Olathe and was employed at First National Bank of Olathe for 34 years before retiring as an Assistant Vice President. During her banking career, she served as treasurer of the Business and Professional Women's Club, the American Business Womens' Club, and the American Banking Women's Association. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Olathe, and was the oldest living member at the time of her death.
Agnes was preceded in death by her husband; Fred Space, whom she married on April 5, 1946; sisters; Delia Kroll, Carrie Barthol, Mary Griffin, and Frances Lanter, and her brother Clarence Schubert.
She leaves her nieces and nephews; John Barthol, Overland Park, KS, Charles Barthol, Kansas City, MO, Bill Griffin, Orange County, CA, Karen Loquvam, Tucson, AZ, Rita Jones, Irvine, CA, Carol Welter, Cupertino, CA, David Lanter, Atlanta, GA, Patricia Doss, Houston, TX, and Jamie Lanter, Lenexa, KS.
Agnes will be remembered as a pioneer career woman who was devoted to her faith and her family. Her generous, loving spirit will never be forgotten by all those whose lives she touched.
