Agnes (Thiemann) Anderson, 92, Olathe, KS, passed away Friday, February 1, 2008 Villa St. Francis Nursing Center in Olathe. The family suggests contributions to Catholic Charities, 9720 W. 87th Street, Overland Park, KS 66212
Agnes was born January 12, 1916 in Reedsburg, WI to parents, Henry and Agnes Thiemann. She received her Masters in History from the University of Wisconsin, taught for several years and joined the U.S. Army in 1942 where she served in the Pentagon for the duration of WWII attaining the rank of Major. On August 14, 1945 she married Bernard L. Anderson of LaValle, WI and resided in the Philippine Islands until 1960, when she moved back to her home in Reedsburg. In 1963 She moved to Boone, Iowa, then retired to Panama City, FL in 1978, where she lived until 2004 afterwhich she moved to Kansas City area to be with family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bernard L. Anderson in 1997; son, James Henry Anderson in 1977; and a daughter, Elizabeth Jean Anderson in 2000.
She is survived by her children, Judith (Mark) Watson; Robert (Marcia) Anderson; grandchildren, Katherine and Rebecca Anderson.
She was an artist, teacher, and avid golfer. Her life was filled with reading, learning, educating, and inspiring others.
