Adeline Owens, 89, of Olathe, Kansas passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Travanse Living in Olathe. A celebration of her life will be held at College Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at 11:00 AM.

Adeline Lois Preuss was born March 3, 1930 in Wichita, Kansas to Henry and Louise Preuss. She attended Bethany Peniel College (now Southern Nazarene University) where Adeline earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion with a minor in English. She and Donald Owens were married on May 30, 1951 in Bethany, Oklahoma. The couple's first pastorate was at the Church of the Nazarene in Fairbury, Nebraska.

The Owens' became pioneer missionaries in 1954, establishing the Church of the Nazarene in South Korea.

Don and Adeline made their home base in Olathe, Kansas. Her many roles included devoted spouse and partner in ministry, educator, loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Eva Jones, and a brother, Ronald Preuss.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Donald Owens, and their children Donna Bean (Lynn), Debbie Bohi (Dan), Darlene Conyers (Rod), and Dorothy DeNeve as well as 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and a sister, Leah Carson.
