Ashley Nicole (Lester) Koerner, born June 1, 1994, passed away December 28, 2023, in KU Medical Center. She was 29 years old.
Her parents, Jason Lester and Kathy (Lester) Young raised Ashley with love, commitment and pride. She grew up closely with her sister and brother, Kaley Lester and Andrew Lester, and later, half brothers and sister Aidan, Skylar, Grayson, Zane and Kailer. Her step-mom Daytin Lester, will cherish her always.
Ashley lived in Belton, MO. She graduated high school as a remarkable student; a gorgeous girl well known and not soon forgotten.
Ashley met her husband and best friend, Cory Koerner. They lived, laughed and loved through college degrees, small apartments, adventures, and work schedules. Ashley and Cory got married in 2015. They found a wonderful home for starting their family and brought Mason, 4, and Blakely, 14mo. into this world.
Ashley captured the hearts and minds of her in-laws, Curt and Kim Koerner, Chad and Amanda Koerner, and Kyle and Kristen (Koerner) Blaylock.
Ashley will be sadly missed by Marty Kauffman, Carl and Fran Koerner, Green Grandma and Red Grandma, and her sweet nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles, cousins, and many more friends and family.
Professionally, Ashley worked 12 years and ultimately managed for Texas Roadhouse (2023). She recently started new college courses and boldly set out on a new career journey to meet her boundless efforts to be even smarter and keep her family even closer.
Ashley is preceded in death by her Grandpa Leroy Lester, Grandpa Charles Young, and Grandpa Ron Shelton.
Ashley excelled at everything she did, but motherhood was truly her greatest accomplishment. Fun outings, creative activities, and inspired cooking were a few of her favorite ways to spend time with her family.
She was witty and captivating, stubborn, passionate, and gave all of herself.
Ashley's last act of giving as an organ donor saved other precious lives. Her heart will go on.
