Diane Audrey Bynum

Diane Audrey Bynum (nee Hamlin), 91, of Olathe, passed away on December 26, 2023 at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

She was born to Marjorie (nee Hall) and Harris Hamlin on April 26, 1932 and was raised in the scenic foothills of Arminto and Casper Wyoming.

After college she went to work for the Mobil Oil Company. She met the love of her life while skiing on Casper Mountain.

On August 27th, 1955, she married Jack. With Jack, Diane had the opportunity to live abroad and travel the world. They lived in Libya, Iran, and England from the late 50's to the mid 70's while establishing a family. Diane would return to the United States in 1976, settling for a few years in Palatine, Illinois where her boys could attend high school, before eventually moving to Tucson, Arizona with Jack where they spent their retirement enjoying the southwest sunshine for 24 beautiful years. Diane and Jack moved to Olathe, Kansas in 2014.

She was a lady of poise and etiquette; enjoying arts and culture. Diane read books her entire life. She loved her Kindle and the huge fonts.

Diane is survived by her brother Bill Hamlin; her sons, John (Irene) Bynum, Thom Bynum; her grandchildren Paige (Andrew) Barrows, Drake Bynum, Hailey Bynum, Kelly Colton, Meg Bynum, and Jake Bynum, her great grandchildren Thomas Barrows and Evan Barrows, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jack Bynum, and her daughter-in-law, Marie Bynum.

A private memorial will take place at a later date in Casper, Wyoming.
