Craig Michael Halder, 61, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023.
He was born in Emmetsburg, Iowa to Fabian and Margaret (Haar) Halder on August 27, 1961. He grew up with his parents and 3 brothers on a farm in Ruthven, IA. After graduating high school in 1979, he continued his education at Iowa Central Community College and Iowa State University. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in business from California State University-San Bernardino. Craig went on to work in the construction industry for 40+ years while owning and operating his own drywall construction company.
Craig was blessed with three wonderful children and six grandchildren. He was a strong, kind, and supportive father. He enjoyed teaching, spoiling, and spending time with everyone. They brought him so much joy and happiness.
Through the years, Craig enjoyed traveling and playing golf. He visited and played courses all over the United States. He loved exploring new places and sharing his adventures. Craig enjoyed rooting on the Chiefs, Royals, and Jayhawks. He cherished meals and time with his family and friends.
Craig had a gift of making everyone feel welcomed. He constantly made it a point to check in on people. His friends describe Craig as nothing but kind, caring, warm, awesome, and wonderful. He will be missed more than words can say.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fabian and Margaret Halder, his brother Gary Halder, and sister-in-law Becky Halder. Left to cherish his memory is his daughters, Melissa (Matt) Thrasher and Kelli Halder; son, Kyle (Sydney) Halder; the mother of his children, Teresa Halder; brothers, Donald Halder and Kent Halder; grandchildren, Lucas, Adeline, Isabella, Jet, Maverick, and Callaway; along with numerous extended family members and friends.
Services to celebrate life will be held at Penwell Gabel's Olathe Chapel on Sunday, January 15, 2023. Visitation will occur from 1:00 - 2:00 pm with funeral service following at 2:00 pm.
Craig's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
