Ethan Foster Long, 16, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday night December 13, 2022. He was born on May 18, 2006 at 3:02 in the afternoon in Merriam, Kansas to Daniel Long and Stacy (Bailey) Long.
Ethan Foster Long, was raised in Olathe, Kansas. He lived with his grandparents, Larry and Carolyn Bailey, along with his mother, Stacy, and his siblings, Jackson, Skylar, and Hailey from three-months-old to the age of 12. Ethan was in the 11th grade attending Olathe North High School as well as the Olathe Advanced Technical Center for the auto technology program. From the time Ethan could crawl, he already was walking. As soon as he could talk, he was already talking back. Ethan was a force to be reckoned with, and he made it his mission to live a life in the fast lane. Ethan filled his past times working on his Camaro with his Papa, taking his motorcycle out for joyrides, building legos and model cars, and being a friend to all. His passion was fueled by the adrenaline he experienced through his adoration of cars and bikes. Ethan was a lover, though calloused and hidden behind his baggy clothes and beautiful dark hair, he was a safe place for everyone he met. Introspective and deep thinking do not even come close to describing him and the way he perceived the world around him. Ethan quickly became part of a widespread car community that bonded deeply over a love for being fast, and even more so, being furious. Ethan had aspirations to be one of the best professional race car drivers this world had ever known. To know Ethan was to simply love every single thing about him. Though he never would have believed it himself, he impacted more lives than anyone could have ever imagined. Ethan Foster Long was an extraordinary young boy, and will be forever missed by his family and his friends.
Ethan is survived by his loving parents, Stacy Long and Daniel Long; grandparents, Larry and Carolyn Bailey; brother, Jackson Long(22); sister, Skylar Long(21); half sisters, Hailey Long(15) and Madison Long(8); step brothers, Dylan Hart(20) and Tyler Hart(18); and girlfriend, Ashlee Jackson(15).
The family will receive guests for a visitation from 12:00-1:00 pm on Monday, December 19, 2022, at Penwell Gabel's Olathe Chapel, 14275 S. Black Bob Rd., with the funeral service following at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at Olathe Memorial Cemetery.
