Robert L. Bell, Jr. of Olathe, KS passed away Saturday November 13, 2021. At Robert's request cremation is planned with no services at this time.
Robert was born September 27, 1948 in Boston, MA to Robert L. Bell, Sr and Virginia Bauer Bell. He lived in Atlanta, GA until 1988 when he moved to Olathe, KS to marry the love of his life Carolyn (Paulsen).
Robert worked as a union sheet metal mechanic for over 45 years and retired from Huxtable & Associates in Lawrence, KS in 2006.
Robert was a wonderful Papa and loved all of his grandchildren but was blessed to be able to take care of his granddaughter Veda several days a week starting with she was 2 weeks old in 2009.
He had many interests including watching sports with his many friends, fantasy football, playing golf, reading and coin collecting. He was an avid football fan but his favorite team was the Georgia Bulldogs-GO DAWGS!
Robert is survived by his wife of 33 years Carolyn Bell. Children; Lisa Hosey (Brandon) of Belton, MO, Stephanie Ruyle (Kevin) Olathe, KS Grandchildren; Holly, Josh, Veda and Henry. He is also survived by his brother Wayne Bell (Ann) and family.
Robert was a 5 year lung cancer survivor, donations in his name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
