Taylor Alexander Thorup

Taylor Alexander Thorup, 33, of Overland Park, passed away on August 30, 2021 at home surrounded by family.

He was born on November 3, 1987 to James and Kim (Grabau) Thorup at Olathe, KS.

Taylor worked in Information Technology for Olathe Public Schools, the University of Kansas, and most recently the PQ Corporation.

On December 12, 2012 , he married Kymberly Buie, and they made their home in Overland Park, Kansas.

He had many hobbies including hydroponic gardening and video games. He enjoyed researching interests to understand all aspects. He loved spending time with family and teaching his son about his interests.

Taylor is survived by his loving wife, Kymberly, his son, William, his parents, Jim and Kim Thorup, brother, Ryan Thorup (Glendy Hoang), and his sister, Jessie Thorup, grandmother, Florence Grabau, and so many loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.

A private spreading of Taylor's ashes will take place on Saturday, September 11 at Powell Gardens. This will be followed by a public Celebration of Life in the Fountain Garden from 2-5. Please feel free to join us. All guests will be admitted to Powell Gardens for free and will have access to all of the gardens. We would love for you to celebrate with us. We have chosen an outside venue and ask that you please be respectful of Covid guidelines so we can keep everyone safe.
